The scheme of Door Step Delivery is being implemented in
the tribal, remote and DPAP areas wherein the transportation of the commodities
is carried out from government godowns up to door step of fair price shops by the
government vehicles and at the government cost.
In tribal areas, this scheme is being implemented through the
Maharashtra State Co-operative Tribal Development Corporation Limited, while in
DPAP areas it is implemented through Maharashtra State Co-operative Marketing Federation
Limited. The Corporation and the Federation are reimbursed for running cost of the
scheme @ Rs.15.00 and Rs.13.00 per Quintal, respectively
State government has implemented the distribution of fortified rice pilot scheme in 2018-19 through Public Distribution System (PDS) with support of Tata Trust for 12 months in Bhamragad and Kurkheda Taluka of Gadchiroli district as a measure to control anemia.
Government of India has approved the fortified rice distribution scheme, and the same would now be implemented across Gadchiroli district as a centrally sponsored pilot scheme. The implementation would be as per the
Operational and Technical Guidelines issued by the Central government for ‘Rice Fortification and its distribution under Public Distribution System’.
This new scheme will be implemented for 12 months with 100% financial support from Tata Trust and BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited) under their CSR scheme as per Central directives.
Under this project, the fortified rice Kernels (FRK) containing vitamin B-12, Folic acid and iron, will be mixed in the ratio 1:100 with rice to be distributed through public distribution system (PDS).
